And, there are so many great activities to go along with the book, like this coffee filter butterfly craft and Summer Song for Kids.
While the kids are making their Butterflies, be sure to play the The Summer Song for kids in the background. The Summer Song for children is the perfect complement to this super fun kids Summer coffee filter butterfly craft activity!
So, what are you waiting for? Let's craft a butterfly this summer with the kids!
Craft supplies you will need:
- 2 Coffee filters
- Clothes pin
- Pipe cleaner
Cut the coffee filters open, and flatten them into butterfly shapes.
Using markers, have the children decorate their coffee filters.
Once done, have the children make accordion folds with the coffee filters.
Then, have the children attach a clothes pin to the center of the coffee filters.
Next, have them twist and tie a pipe cleaner around the clothes pin. Have the children curl around the ends of the pipe cleaner to make an antennae for the butterfly.
Lastly, have the children open up the accordion folds and spread the butterfly wings!
And, voila, the children have now made a Butterfly!
What a simple and fun activity for summer.
